My Story

I am taking part in Child's i Foundation's annual #49forChildren challenge this August 2022 to support families at risk of separation due to the Cost of Living crisis. Thousands of families face increased risk of poverty, from the rising cost of goods and services. This increased risk, also means that children could be separated from their families and placed in an orphanage.

We can prevent this from happening by strengthening families and sorrounding them with a community of support.

How is Child's i preventing separation and responding to families in crisis?

A community volunteer walks 49 miles a month to ensure children recieve the support they need to remain safe and loved in their families. These local champions visit families door to door every single day to make sure children are in education, to provide mental health support as well as parenting advice. They also refer families to local services, and ensure that those who need to start businesss, get the training and start up income to become sustainable.

Throughout the month of August to show support to our network of over 700 community volunteers, Child's i family of supporters will be running, walking, cycling, swimming, and scooting to raise money to keep children in families, instead of harmful orphanages.

Support #49forChildren challenge and help raise £2000 to provide essential support to keep families together and to support them to build back stronger beyond the pandemic and this new crisis.

Every pound raised will help to transform the lives of children facing the risk of separation. Help us to support families to build back better, and to remain strong in this crisis.

We make Families, Not orphans.
